They're probably a bit old school now, but I have nothing but praise for Motherease One-Size (the dry version in our case) under Motherease Airflow wraps. Not the most beautiful of nappies, but they've got the best containment of anything I've tried (we've never had a problem unless there has been operator error involved).
For night nappies, a boosted Tots Bots Bamboozle Stretch. The best night nappy I've tried, and I've tried a lot. The only downside of this nappy is that older babies can and do remove velcro fastened nappies, which is fine if they can't get to it through a sleeping bag but less so if they're wandering around the house in a nightie.
I use Onelife nappies when I am out or at night. They work perfectly and last for whole night (I have had only few leaks at night since birth of my son and he is now 7 months old) and I bought whole set 16 nappies and covers for half price :) Also I have pre-fold muslin square nappies which I did not see in UK (only saw terry pre-folds). I use them mostly through day as they need to be changed more often but they dry very quickly and their cost was around 1 pound per nappy.
Tots Bots. Having seen and touched most of them at Baby shows and the like Tots Bots were definitely my favourite. Go for the Easyfit all in ones - so simple to use. Bamboozles for night are great.
